So many things come to mind when we think of ice cream.
Like gold, designer gowns, and mini commercial films.
Usually thoughts of ice cream are accompanied by images of hot summer days and jorts in our head, but that may soon change!
Magnum Ice Cream has enlisted the talents of one Zac Posen to create a 24-karat gold-sequined gown to promote the launch of its Magnum Gold?! (yes, the interrobang is part of its official name) ice cream — a yummy combo of vanilla-bean and sea-salt caramel packed in a gold-colored Belgian chocolate shell.
Posen's finished creation is composed of more than 10,000 paillettes hand-cut from gold sheets, which took the design team two weeks to hand-embroider onto the garment.
If you think that's a random alliance between gold, ice cream, and a couturier, allow the vice president of Unilever, Alfie Vivian, to explain:
"It's not necessarily a natural association. It's part of the intrigue we are trying to generate."
And the dress's designer added his own take on the matter, saying:
"[The dress] mimics the liquid and sensuous quality of how ice cream melts. [Ice cream and fashion] represent decadence, sensuousness, and luxury—something you wear or eat for your own indulgent pleasure!"
The gown is priced at $1.5 million and will be worn by Brazilian actress Caroline Correa in a short promotional film for the ice cream also starring Joe Manganiello.
And there you were thinking you couldn't like ice cream any more than you already do!
Check out a sketch of the gown and a still from the upcoming commercial in the gallery (below)!
