Diana Di Poce Dares To Create A Magazine For Plus-Sized Women

Dare magazine fills a hole in the market by catering to plus-sized women!

Well, this is a bit of good news after that whole Abercrombie & Fitch debacle!

Diana Di Poce, a fashion communications student at Ryerson University in Canada, has launched Dare magazine, an online publication catering to women size 12 and up.

As is often the case, the 21-year-old was inspired to make the magazine when she noticed a dearth of publications that featured plus-sized women in their pages.

Despite having a plus-size angle, however, the magazine does not specifically have that label on its cover so that readers who are not plus-sized don't feel excluded.

Diana explained:

"I wanted to keep it more general in the way that any woman can look at the magazine and get inspiration from it. (It's) just like how I pick up an issue of Elle or Flare … even though I won't fit these outfits and I won't look like these models, I still get inspiration from it. I really hope to show women that style has no size."

For now the mag is only available digitally, but Diana has plans to turn it into a quarterly print publication.

Like the recent H&M ads featuring a size 12 bikini model, this is something that is desperately needed in the fashion world.

The idea that all bodies are beautiful should be more universally acknowledged and accepted.

We wish you the best of luck, Diana!

great a magazine to support ppls food addiction lets make a magazine promoting crack and meth while we r at it. I admit being to thin isnt good but its proven that if u eat a low cal diet u will live longer how about instead have magazines not directed towards a womens body type our bodies arent the only thing we have but the media is trying to make it seem that way being sexy isnt the only thing in the world women r meant to do fuck all magazines all garbage and mostly ads

Re: babyrach – You just compared larger women to a crack addiction, so why not take your fourth-grade education and shut the fuck up about shit you know nothing about.

    I think it's a fab idea.
