This is a crazy case of life imitating art imitating life!
The Bling Ring premiered at Cannes on Thursday, and it seems like some people were inspired by the true story of a bunch of teens burglarizing the homes of celebs, because more than $1 million worth of Chopard jewels were discovered stolen on Friday.
The jewels, which were seen on the likes of Julianne Moore, Cara Delevingne (above) and Lana Del Rey during the Opening Ceremony, were going to be lent to various other celebs throughout the duration of the Cannes Film Festival.
Authorities suspect an inside job as the jewels were taken from the safe in the Suite Novotel Cannes Centre room of an American Chopard employee.
The entire safe, containing approx. $1.4 million in jewelry, was removed from the wall of the employee's room and carried out of the suite through the connecting door of an adjacent room.
Police in Nice are interviewing hotel employees, but have yet to name a suspect.
This is just AWFUL!
How will all those celebs shine without their diamonds???
