Fashion dramz! Our favorite kind!
It's being reported that Kate Middleton will no longer be wearing Issa, the brand that made the now-iconic blue dress she wore to announce her engagement to Prince William back in 2010!
According to sources, ever since the British brand was purchased by Camilla Al-Fayed, the Duchess of Cambridge has been keeping her distance, and hasn't been seen wearing any of the label's clothes since 2011.
Why? Because Camilla is the sister of the late Dodi Al-Fayed, AKA Princess Diana's boyfriend, who died in the same car crash that killed the beloved royal.
It also doesn't help that Dodi's father, Mohamed Al-Fayed, has gone on record as saying certain very unflattering things about the royal family, including calling Prince Phillip "a Nazi," and referring to the Queen Elizabeth II as "a gangster in a tiara."
Fighting words, if we've ever heard any! No wonder Kate would rather steer clear of being associated with any of the Al-Fayeds in general.
Susan Kelly, of the website What Kate Wore, explained further:
"Nothing and no one created more publicity for Issa than Kate in her rich blue engagement dress. The company makes lovely garments, many that were stunning on Kate, it's a shame we won't see her wearing Issa designs in the future. I can't imagine any circumstances in which we see Kate wearing the label again, the only possible exception would be if Ms. Al-Fayed were to sell the label and even then, I doubt the Duchess wants to be associated with Issa going forward."
Well, Issa and Kate had a good run while it lasted! And we're sure the Duchess won't have ANY trouble finding new duds to take the place of her Issa dresses!
