It must really be quite something to be considered a legend in one's own lifetime.
Kate Moss is one of the rare few who knows exactly how that feels!
In honor of Christie's upcoming auction of works by various artists of Kate's image, the supermodel appears in an issue of Net-A-Porter's The Edit dedicated entirely to her!
Showing everyone who's boss, Mossy looks regal and powerful in an intricate Alexander McQueen number while balancing expertly on some specially-made fiber glass rocks in a pair of studded McQueen heels.
In the second shot, she seems to make nice with her volcanic background as she lounges on the jagged boulders in a delicate lace Alberta Ferretti gown.
Photog Mat Collishaw had this to say about his subject and dear friend:
"I originally wanted to shoot Kate on a car wreck or throwing a petrol bomb, but you and your insurance policies wouldn’t allow it. So I compromised with a more sedate setting of a volcanic eruption. Models are generally seen to be quite passive. They are valued for their ability to function as a blank canvas or a clothes hanger. Kate complies to none of these rules, and is much more potent for it.”
Well said! Like a volcanic eruption, Kate is a true force of nature!
Nobody can quite compare!
