Is this really happening?!
The rumors sure are gaining ground! And nobody's denying anything!!!
Marc Jacobs may actually, totally, DEFINITELY be leaving Louis Vuitton after 16 years. His upcoming show on October 2 during Paris Fashion Week may be his last one for the brand he helped bring to global prominence!
A fashion insider who wished to remain anonymous said:
"His contract may not be renewed."
With a separate source adding:
"Nothing has been decided yet."
Marc's contract with Vuitton ends next month, and according to French magazine Challenges, the matter of his leaving has already been given the go-ahead privately.
No official statements have been made, but, like we said, there have been no denials either!
Insiders familiar with the matter claim that the historic French brand is seeking a change that will hopefully result in more growth for the label, which saw a major decrease in sales growth this year, down to 5-6% from an average of 10% in previous years.
Nicolas Ghesquiere, formerly of Balenciaga, is still in the front-running to replace Jacobs, as he is said to be very close with Delphine Arnault, one of the top decision makers for LVMH.
Gah! We can't deal with so much suspense and speculation! We need to know NOW!
