Abercrombie & Fitch's Crappy Sales Force Them To Add Larger Sizes Following CEO Controversy!

| Filed under: Fashion SmashionBusiness BlitzAbercrombie & Fitch

Abercrombie & Fitch caves into pressure to add larger sizes!

In today's shocking yet awesome news, Abercrombie & Fitch has reportedly made plans to stock larger sizes!

You may recall the brouhaha that resulted back in May when CEO Mike Jeffries was quoted as saying that he only wants "good-looking people in our stores," which presumably does not include any woman who wears anything over a pant size 10 and a top size large, since they don't stock any size above that.

But now, reports indicate that dwindling sales have forced the company to be more inclusive, like competitors H&M and American Eagle!

Leslee Herro, the company's head of planning and allocation, said:

"We recognize that our businesses have been and will continue to be disrupted by both fast fashion and pure play e-commerce competitors."

And this realization will now lead them to offer a wider range of styles AND sizes, beginning next spring! There are also plans to expand their accessories line and introduce a shoe line.

However, there's no word yet on how high their new larger sizes will go.

We honestly never thought this day would come, but money talks, baby, and no company wants to be in the red.

Will this and the CEO's apology be enough to renew interest in the brand?

Guess only time will tell!

Love how they make their poor sales into being someone else's fault.

Them adding bigger sizes isn't going to change the fact that A&F are a bunch of douchebags. I mean, come on. Walk past that store in the mall and you can smell the douchery. No thank you. I highly doubt it'll improve their sales.

They must be high from the cologne they spray all over that nasty store. We all know they're doing this because they feel forced to do so.

Abercrombie, we know you still only want skinny white people wearing your cloths!!

  8. 8

    Don't do ME any favors!

Their stuff is overpriced and boring anyway…why would anyone shop there even if they carried larger sizes?!

I dont care if they add larger sizes, i wouldnt give them a penny! they are disgusting and i am happy that their sales are plummeting! Their clothes are unnecessarily expensive and are ugly! im a size 12 and im no where near fat, and even if i was so what? Not everyone is going to be a size zero! i would never want to!

I've never understood why people buy over-priced brands, just to walk around doing their advertising for them. Suckers.

Oh please! Don't do us "bigger" people any favors! Even if they added bigger sizes, I still wouldn't shop there! They can keep their overpriced sh** and stick it where the sun don't shine!!!!!!! They're gonna go broke. I don't think it's gonna help them any. They've already set the standard for their "brand" and made it clear that they don't want anyone that doesn't look like a fricken barbie wearing their clothes! I say EF YOU Abercrombie!

"$50 dollars for a t-shirt, that's some ignorant bitch shit."

NEVER have looked at any of this clothes and thought, WOW I NEED THAT! Unfashionable, unoriginal CRAP!

so embarrassed i used to shop there when i was between 12 and 14 years old. never bought anything that wasnt in the sale section but still…if we leave the fact that the people who work there and the entire brand is full of douches and just focus on the clothes…it's still not worth it shop there. the material is horrible and easily rips and shrinks in the wash. the CEO and any other A&B supporters can go fuck themselves. i hope they close

So does this mean Lane Bryant will start selling small sizes?

  18. 18

Used to love to shop there about 12-15 years ago and would often drop $200 for a cashmere sweater for my late hubby. One year I walked in and the place was totally transformed, nothing to buy for middle age people. so that is the last they saw of my money.
Of course it is their store and they can manage and market however they want to. So I care less if they carry larger sizes now, do my shopping online at KMart or once in awhile at Marshall's.

Re: Hahaha – Thats exactly what I thought after reading this hahahaha ”I call that getting swindled and pimped shit…I call that getting tricked by a business”

Too little, too fu@king late! Do they actually think that after insulting everyone who wears a size 12 or above, that those same people are going to now shop there? WOW, we're really special now, A&F is letting us into the "cool" world. Screw that! Their clothes are boring as hell. They're essentially just advertisements. I went into their store once and couldn't stand it. Who the fu@k shops in the dark? Should be fun watching those stores close, one by one……….
