Beauty is pain!
The reality star posted a Snap of her legs after the event, and they looked like an annoyed cat had gone on the attack.
Major props to HOVA for sticking up for his followers!
After his initial response to complaints and lawsuits directed toward Barneys and the NYPD when they tried to arrest black customers leaving a store with their purchases, the rapper posted an update on the situation to Life + Times last week.
"While I await the findings of the Attorney General’s Office, I have agreed to move forward with the launch of BNY SCC collection under the condition that I have a leadership role and seat on a council specifically convened to deal with the issue of racial profiling. I am in a unique position to use my voice to affect change to this disturbing issue. The easy position would have been to walk away and leave policy making to others hoping that someone addresses the problem. I will not leave the outcome to others. I will take this into my own hands with full power to recommend, review and revise policies and guidelines moving forward. I am choosing to take this head on."
Werk it, Shawn Carter!!
Additionally, a group of major retailers agreed to meet on November 22nd to discuss racial profiling.
Macy’s, Barneys, Neiman Marcus, Lord & Taylor, Saks, and Bloomingale’s have all confirmed they’ll be there, and a Barney’s rep said:
“Barneys New York has worked closely with Rev. Al Sharpton, Marc Morial [chief executive officer of the National Urban League] and The Retail Council of New York State to make sure that all key retailers are represented at the Nov. 22 event, including personally inviting many of the attendees. The retail council meeting is an important first step to addressing a serious problem in our industry.”
A Neiman’s spokeswomen has high hopes for the meeting, and added:
“People are coming from New York and Dallas. We believe in the goals that they are trying to achieve.”
We can't WAIT to hear what comes of Friday's meeting, and we bet Jay Z fans are enthralled to hear the rapper is playing an integral role!
They should also be happy to hear that The Shawn Carter Foundation will now be receiving 100% of profits from Mr. Carter's holiday collaboration with Barneys, instead of the original 25%, and will receive an ADDITIONAL 10% from all Barney's sales during the holiday season!
