Roberto Cavalli and Michael Kors are both well-respected designers in the fashion industry. But if Mr. Cavalli had his way, that wouldn’t be the case!
The Italian designer recently bashed the New York designer in an interview, exclaiming:
"Mr. Michael Kors, he copies everything! It's really a scandal and nobody has the courage to say anything. It's really not fair."
Woah! That's a MAJOR accusation!!
Soooo, then what about cheaper brands that OBVIOUSLY rip from designer goods to bring the public affordable fashion?
He isn’t irked by them at all!
The designer stated:
"Now, you have designers and you have Zara, which is meant to be fast and sold at a very cheap price, so you expect [copying]."
But while it may seem like Cavalli has a specific grudge against Kors, the NY label wasn’t the only to feel the lash of Cavalli’s sharp tongue!
He also bad-mouthed the entire fashion industry and its greediness, saying:
"Fashion is just about money now. There's no evolution. In the 18th and 19th centuries, fashion used to completely change every 20 years. Totally new silhouettes, etc. Now, there is less creativity. There's been nothing truly new since the 1950s, except many sneakers."
Harsh words for all!
But then Roberto went on to even dismiss his own designs…sort of!!
He thinks fashion should be about personal preference, rather than labels, and voiced:
"Labels shouldn't be important, it's about what you like. Take off the label."
Roberto Cavalli certainly brings up some interesting points!
But did he really need to put down another designer?
And do U think Michael Kors steals others' designs???
