If You Didn't Know Christian Fashion Week Was A Thing, You Do Now!

Find out all you need to know about Christian Fashion Week HERE!

Ever heard of Christian Fashion Week?

No? Allow us to share the gospel.

Christian Fashion Week (currently held in Tampa, Florida) was started by minister José Gomez and his wife Mayra last year as a Christian alternative to regular Fashion Week. But while it sounds like an excuse for designers to repurpose the crucifix in as many ways as possible, the event was actually organized to "showcase fashion-forward modest clothing."

You know, like stuff you can wear to church!

A description on CFW’s website states:

“Christian Fashion Week exists to create a series of international fashion shows and events around the idea of fashion from a Christian worldview, reflecting common values such as modesty, boldness, and integrity. While we acknowledge that these values are not exclusively Christian, our faith is a unifying factor for the these ideals, and a viable marketplace for fashion designers who believe in them.”

If that description seems far less preach-y than you expected, you’re not alone!

Journalists who attended this year's event noted that while there were some overt displays of Christianity (such as starting each show with a prayer), most the fashions presented weren’t all too different than those shown at secular fashion weeks.

Maybe just a little less cutting edge, with a lot less nipple!

Check out some spectator pics from the event (below)!

I am thrilled you included this piece on your blog. Although some of your comments were less than pro for this event you did include it…so that shows you are open minded to a point. This Christian thanks you!!!!

Re: PixieDust111 – It is a really hilarious thing to read all these outraged homosexuals against the fact that some people do not share their homosexual values while trying to impose their own values to everybody.

All this at the same time that for their part, homosexuals try to withdraw the right to freedom of speech of their opponents, by demonizing them, in denigrating thier opponents, while trying to impose to everybody thier own homosexual values.

Personally I find that both parties are equivalent in stupidity.

LOL, silly Christians. There's more than 1 religion/God. Why the hell do they need a fashion show for their boring, bland style.

    Re: S – You sir,suck!
There is only one God and this God will send you into the flames of hell for your blasphemy. When that happens, I'll laugh at your stupidity finally revealed!

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you - Ephesians 4:32.

LOL, guess I found the 'true Christian' telling me God will send me to hell then will laugh about it. Very Christian of you, my friend ;) Oooh wait, did I find the part of the bible that you think doesn't apply to you?? Y'know like most Christans do when they pick the parts that they like and disregard those they don.t

    Ps, I'm a female, honey.

Re: S – blah blah blah, you can be what you want, even a trans! This will not change anything to the fact you have blasphemed against God, and that this Sin will never be forgiven! Ciao… We meet again in hell, no matter who or what you are.

Come on, guys. Play nice. Thank you for the write up about Christian Fashion Week. As one off the organizers (there are actually four - myself, Mayra, plus Tamy and Wil Lugo), it's been wonderful to see the dialogue that takes place around the event. That's the point. Christianity definitely has a place in this modern world, and Christian Fashion Week demonstrates that. Thanks again!

I had the pleasure of attending Christian Fashion Week and it was a wonderful event! The founders and those involved are so welcoming to ALL who come. It was a great way to translate the values in the bible to our everyday lives. I have a Christian Fashion Blog ( and this event is always a highlight for my followers!
