Where does he find the time???
Karl Lagerfeld must be the most energetic and busiest 80-year-old on the planet!
Not only does he design four full collections for Chanel and Fendi every year, but in his spare time (whenever THAT is!), he even dabbles in interior design!
The Chanel creative directive has previously designed rooms in Paris' Hotel de Crillon, but now he's getting a much bigger project in Macau, China, by signing a deal to design all 270 rooms in a hotel in the city.
It's the perfect project for Unkle Karl, who loves to decorate his own homes, but doesn't want to buy anymore. He explained:
“I have more houses than I need and I don’t want to do any anymore. So I can — how could I say? — get rid of my frustration by doing hotels.”
Too many houses! #richpeopleproblems
And his interior design philosophy also follows Coco Chanel's clothing design philosophy! He said:
“You know, Gabrielle Chanel always said, ‘I only make dresses I would wear.’ And I make only rooms where I would like to sleep. It’s as simple as that. When I do a thing like this I think, Would you live there or not? Do you want to wake up there? Do you think the bathroom is comfortable? It’s very childish thinking, but you know it’s like the song ‘My Way.’”
There's no doubt every single room in that place is going to be spectacular!
