Well, the dress has been found ... to be a fake!
The thief who took the gown says he took the dress from Lupita's room at The London after finding the door ajar.

Since then, people have been trying to piece together what happened.
Police sources report that the designer sent her assistant a text around 8:30 a.m. saying, “Come by”. The assistant arrived around 10 a.m. to find the former model hanging from a doorknob with a scarf around her neck.
No note has been discovered, and there were no signs of foul play.
Mick Jagger, L'Wren's longtime boyfriend of 12 years, is currently on tour with the Rolling Stones in Australia.
"…completely shocked and devastated."
So so sad.
It seems like no one close to L'Wren was even aware she was troubled.
However, many in the fashion industry speculate her apparent suicide was due — at least in part — to a rough patch in her business.
"L’Wren’s business just crashed. I knew something was wrong when L’Wren canceled her London Fashion Week show. That would have been so important to her. She was very prolific on Instagram and recently had gone quiet and hadn’t been posting so much. Everybody who knows L’Wren and Mick are totally and completely shocked. Neither of them drink and do drugs, and they were always really affectionate with each other. There were no signs of problems in their relationship. I’ve never known her to say anything to me like ‘I’m sad’."
We may never know what really happened, but we do know she'll truly be missed.
