Maybe it’s just us, but telling the difference between an actual grenade and a Jimmy Choo perfume bottle is pretty easy!
Especially when the Jimmy Choo bottle is made out of clear glass, smells great, and is tinted PINK.
But last week, TSA agents at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport's Southwest Terminal were apparently so confused by the bottle enough, they called in explosive experts to investigate the pricey eau de parfum! Additionally, they shut down the terminal for an entire hour while they analyzed the vial.
Even after the fragrance was deemed safe, the $83 scent was still confiscated along with a copy of the owner’s license!
According to the baffled frequent flier, Lois Lewis:
"They said if as a passenger you were to get on an airplane and [ … ] wave this around people could maybe construe that as you making some sort of a threat. I went from humorous to, alright, let's be real. It's perfume. Everyone was staring. I am a traveller. I travel a lot, many, many flights a year. I have a husband. I want to come home. I want to be safe. But I want to be logical."
Lois decided to replace her scent of choice before flying back home, but on the return journey was sure to store the questionable bottle in her check-in luggage.
Even so, when she got home and unpacked, she saw her bag had been searched and the new bottle had been taken out of its plastic wrapping!!
Weird that the TSA seems to be more preoccupied with harmless perfume than potentially dangerous KNIVES, like the one Amanda Seyfried was able to sneak on board a flight!
