It may have been difficult to notice, but there are people besides Kim and Kanye in the April issue of Vogue.
Mindy Kaling, for example, looks glamorous and gorgeous in a profile in the issue, dressed in a ruffled print Dries Van Noten skirt and matching top and dotted Oscar de la Renta pumps.
And though she may not make the best-dressed lists all the time, The Mindy Project actress admits her eternal love for clothes, saying:
"I feel the same way about clothes as I do about food. I want everything. [Clothing] is a fun expression of who I am. Miu Miu slays me, too. It’s so playful. I love when your clothes can help you project that you’re witty—you know, when your outfit does some of the work for you.”
Plus, with this being the Shape Issue, Vogue naturally gets Mindy to talk about body image. But the actress has a fairly healthy one.
“There’s a whole list of things I would probably change about myself. For example, I’m always trying to lose fifteen pounds. But I never need to be skinny. I don’t want to be skinny. I’m constantly in a state of self-improvement but I don’t beat myself up over it.”
She also explains how she tends to dress her body when her weight fluctuates, saying:
“When I’m at my thinnest, I tend to wear things that don’t show off my body. But when I’m bigger, I’ll go body-con, which comes from a place of ‘This is my perimeter, in case you were wondering if I was actually much bigger.’” It’s really tempting not to take chances. But I don’t want to be fearful. I don’t want my tombstone to say, she hid her imperfections well on the red carpet.”
Mindy later took time to film something in the infamous Vogue closet with assistants hovering over her and telling her what not to wear.
It's adorable and hilarious! Watch it below!
