Cara Delevingne May Be One Of Karl Lagerfeld's Favorite Models, But That Doesn't Stop Him From Giving Her A Backhanded Compliment!

Karl Lagerfeld throws a little shade at Cara Delevingne while giving her a compliment!

Karl Lagerfeld is such an enigma!

The Chanel designer’s latest obsession (other than himself) seems to be Cara Delevingne — he talks about her all the time, she’s closed out a ton of his runways, and they hold hands constantly.

However, he recently gave the model a compliment that was kind of insulting! He said:

"She is not a standout beauty. Was it Bacon who said, 'There is not beauty without some strangeness in the proportions'?"

Oh, uhhh…

Well, even if she’s not a “standout beauty” at least she’s still a beauty?!?

And while the “strangeness in the proportions” bit was meant to express that Miz Delevingne’s thick and well-defined brows makes her beautiful, is it really nice to call someone strangely proportioned??

Eh, we’re sure Cara loves Karl so much she doesn’t mind. Besides, he even mentioned her fave food: bacon! LOLz!!

No, it means she's funny looking. And funny looking people who happen to be tall and thin are always hits in the fashion world, because since they're in fashion, it makes them a "beauty" even when they're not.

Re: Poke – always. no fashion model icons have ever been traditionally beautiful and in any other outlet, they'd be considered weird looking or ugly. fashion is the most double standard of beauty ever where they'll take someone with a weird look or a defect and call them unique but will turn their nose at anyone who's over a size 2.
