Many girls dream of becoming a successful model in LA.
To the point at which they’d do almost anything to achieve their end goal!
A man named Taquarius Ford from Portland, Oregon apparently decided to take advantage of that. He's been accused of promising a glamorous career to naive models in order to seduce them into his sex trafficking operation for years now. Ugh!!
Court documents outline how Taquarius took advantage of women, describing how he’d pretend to be a modeling executive, fly model hopefuls to LA, “wine and dine” them, then stipulate that if they wanted a modeling contract, they would first have to work as prostitutes.
According to a judge:
"Once the girls agreed to join the modeling agency, (Ford) would inform them that he also had an escort service on the side and asked them to work as escorts. If the girls refused, (Ford) would threaten them and their families and beat them and raped them."
He's been accused of raping at least two women who turned down his offer.
A third victim was rescued from Taquarius in Portland in 2012, and while he was arrested at the time he wasn't indicted.
Taquarius was FINALLY indicted in January of this year, and subsequently arrested by the FBI in February. He has not been granted bail, and is scheduled to appear in Federal Court this week on charges of sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion.
This seriously makes us sick to our stomachs!!
Hopefully he gets what he deserves!
