Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen Overwhelm Themselves In Drapery At The Met Gala!

Don't worry, they didn't show up totally matchy-matchy!

Those twin days are soooo over!

Instead, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen decided to go for a sort of vintage Chanel ball gown/trench coat look at the Met Gala…but we swear, they weren't identical.

While Mary-Kate's dress is definitely looking like a coat with its collar and striping, Ashley's dress looks a bit more like a dress. Perhaps a Victorian type of gown??

With hair for both by Mark Townsend, the twins kept it simple. And that's probably for the best because those dresses were overwhelming their petite figures.

But if you've ever seen their style choices, that's just how they like it!

To be honest, I really like their Met Gala gowns. Then again, I prefer more coverage and black is always sophisticated and regal. Plus, it is refreshing to see two celebrities who chose not to showcase excessive cleavage and skin. In my humble opinion, cleavage and bare midriffs are not appropriate for events such as this, even if it is about fashion. Old Hollywood glamour was not about showing skin, it was about sophistication; and, at times, discretion. Another sophisticated dress was the one worn by Maggie Q.
