One source claims the 18-year-old was actually bullied for being there -- apparently not everyone thought she earned the right to walk the shows!
The insider spilled:
Seriously Nine West???
In a bizarre advertising move, Nine West decided to promote their shoes as items perfect for women doing the "walk of shame" and "husband hunting".
It's no surprise that many are calling the ads sexist, and lots of disgruntled Facebook users have left comments on the ads that are along the lines of what one woman wrote:
"Women are hunting success and goals, dreams and visions. Not husbands."
You tell 'em, sista!!
But Nine West's Senior Vice President of Marketing, Erika Szychowki, thinks the ads are fine and that they in fact reflect a modern vernacular.
"We have to change the way we talk about occasions because women are modern now and shop for a different reason. ‘Starter husband hunting,’ for example, might once have been called night-on-the-town shoes."
Or maybe it'd be a better angle to depict women doing victory laps or career hunting instead?
