The Devil wears really expensive Prada!!!
According to new reports, Anna Wintour has a $200,000 yearly clothing allowance from Vogue magazine. Some people dream of saving up that much after years of hard work, but for La Wintour that's just a style stipend!
Of course, should we really be surprised? Obviously, the woman has to have the latest and greatest fashions as the editor-in-chief of the most prestigious fashion magazine in the world.
But, the funny thing is, we don't even consider that to be very much at all!
Think about it: Anna's clothes rarely cost less than $1,000 per dress, and when she wears couture or fur, the numbers are simply astronomical!
Left: A Bottega Veneta dress she wore to the premiere of Magic in the Moonlight in New York in July. Typically, dresses from this Italian brand run from $2,500 to $3,500, and sometimes even more than $5,000!
Right: A Louis Vuitton dress from one of the latest collections was worn to the Wish I Was Here screening last month. We couldn't find an exact price but we'd be surprised if it was less than $4K.
And Anna's favorite Manolo Blahnik slingbacks are surprisingly cheaper than we expected!
Left: This embroidered floral and lace Oscar de la Renta dress is expensive enough, and we don't even want to think about how much that brown croc trench could possibly cost.
Right: This geometric print Diane Von Furstenberg only set the editrix back about $325. Practically free, if you think about it.
Left: One of Anna's favorite brands is Marni, and this colorful print dress is just shy of $2,000, if you factor in tax. Though, we doubt Anna would actually buy it for herself from a brick and mortar store! That's what assistants are for.
Left: The editor has worn Chanel to the last two consecutive Met Galas, and both gowns have been couture. The couture line of the brand is insanely expensive, with most pieces going for $20,000 to $30,000, and sometimes even more! A wedding dress could cost as much as $200,000!
Right: We figured since this particular Chanel couture dress is a little bit shorter, then the price tag would be less, too. Wishful thinking?
Left & Right: Prada fur coats are practically Anna Wintour's uniform, and if the rumored prices are true, she already blew half her yearly allowance on these two pieces! It could be worse though. This coat from the A/W 2013 collection is estimated to be $140,000, and if Anna bought it, that would only leave her a measly $60,000 for the rest of the year. Ha!
Let's be real, though, she probably gets at least 50% of her wardrobe for free from the designers themselves, and she can just pop into the Vogue closet anytime she wants for everything else!
One day, we'd love to see her in a Target maxi dress, wouldn't you? LOLz!!!
