New hair, who dis?

Kylie Jenner shocked fans as she actually dyed her hair platinum blonde instead of using her signature wigs in honor of NYFW.

And while we're used to seeing the 19-year-old make some serious transformations, this one definitely made us curious!

In effort to find out just how much damage Kylie's bleach can do to her naturally brunette locks, we asked color expert to the stars, Jessica Gonzalez from the Benjamin Arts District Salon in LA, to weigh in on the reality teen's new look.

Ch-ch-check out the EXCLUSIVE! interview to get the scoop on Kylie's dramatic 'do and if blondes really do have more fun (below)!

PH: Kylie Jenner recently went platinum blonde for NYFW and even took Snapchats where she seemed in pain from the bleaching process — what goes into stripping/bleaching her naturally dark hair color?

Jessica: Stripping black hair the way Kylie did in one day is a lot of work and probably burned really badly on the scalp — on the scalp bleach is painful. She probably did multiple bleach sessions in one day, and hopefully she used OLAPLEX to maintain her hair integrity as much as possible.

PH: What goes into Kylie becoming brunette again?

Jessica: Going back go brunette won't be impossible, but it gets tricky because you must add all the colors back in. For instance, she stripped red, orange, and gold out of her hair to achieve the platinum color — so going back brunette she'll have to add those all back in. That way it looks like a real brunette not a faded, hallow brunette.

PH: How much damage could this potentially cause? Can you detail what could happen?

Jessica: This could be very damaging if not done correctly. I feel like Priscilla [Valles], the stylist that colored her hair, did a good job because it's icy, and it looks like it still had a wave and she also looks like she curled it. But if done wrong, there could be a lot of breakage if you push the hair to be blonde and it's not budging. I think people are going to start asking to be platinum blonde in one sitting because Kylie did it — but they need to take into consideration how much they really want to be in the salon and if they are using all the best products to keep their hair healthy. A lot of the time people don't realize how high maintenance the platinum can be. Purple shampoo and OLAPLEX is a must!

We're definitely interested to see how long Kylie can keep up with that ~blonde life~ before she heads back to her signature style, especially considering how much work it takes!
