In an unprecedented move, 50 Girl Scouts descended upon the White House lawn on Tuesday, shocking America and making camp for the night.
No, this isn't some sort of coup — it's actually just the first time anyone's ever spent the night on the South Lawn!
Michelle kicked off the event with an adorable introduction, saying:
"I really just wanted to formally welcome you to the White House. There it is, it's right there.
You're making history, this is something you can tell you kids and your grand kids, do you understand the impact of this day?"
Naturally, the 10 and 11-year-olds didn't quite understand how significant their sleepover actually was, but at least Michelle seemed to have fun!
Ch-ch-check out how the historic day unfolded (below)!!!
Step aside, Donald Trump! There's another tough-talking GOP candidate in town now!
On Tuesday, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president!
While the Republican party already has over a dozen candidates running, the New Jersey native has promised to be aggressive in his upcoming campaign. He told voters:
"You're going to get what I think whether you like it or not, or whether it makes you cringe every once in a while or not. I am now ready to fight for the people of the United States of America."
Though the 52-year-old's resume is impressive, he has also faced backlash from former aides who created traffic jams at a bridge to get back against a Democratic mayor who chose not to endorse Christie's re-election!
While Christie denied he had anything to do with the bridge closing, this raised the awareness that that those who work with the governor will do anything to win!
During his campaign launch, the presidential hopeful called out the "bickering leaders" from both parties — though highlighted Barack Obama's "weak and feckless foreign policy" and referred to fellow candidate Hillary Clinton the president's "second mate."
In the gymnasium of his old high school, the presidential hopeful declared:
Nobody is taking Donald Trump's presidency seriously, but we were all hoping for at least a little consistency from the tough talker… LOLz, yeah right!
On Friday, reporters asked The Donald to release his long-form birth certificate and passport records now that he's running for president — and he adamantly refused!
That wouldn't be too big of a deal, except for the fact that The Donald hammered president Barack Obama for years about releasing his birth certificate, trying to prove that Obama wasn't born in America.
Back in 2012, The Guardian asked Michael Cohen of the Trump Organization to release The Donald's birth certificate as a show of good faith regarding Obama. Back then Cohen responded:
What a touching, powerful moment.
President Barack Obama delivered a eulogy at State Senator and Reverend Clementa Pinckney's funeral on Friday afternoon, one of a heartbreaking nine funerals the city of Charleston must endure after the attack in a church last week.
The President's eulogy was heartfelt, discussing Reverend Pinckney's life and faith:
