This sounds worse than we thought!
Simmons recently found out he needs a knee replacement, and he also suffered the loss of his beloved dog.
However, despite his attempts to put people at ease, Simmons' friends are still very worried!
He reportedly hasn't talked to them since March 10th, and a few months ago, the mother of a close friend died, and Richard didn't even go to the funeral!
Another friend added that 66-year-old was close with Joan Rivers and "There is no way he wouldn't have gone to her funeral if he was ok."
The most troubling news is that

News broke yesterday that Joan Rivers death was deemed avoidable — due to improper procedure by Yorkville Endoscopy Center, and that just makes us mad.
Well, Melissa Rivers is even MORE infuriated, and rightfully so.
In fact, she is reportedly planning to file a multimillion-dollar wrongful death lawsuit against them, due to their negligence in treating her mother.
Melissa's lawyers, Jeffrey B. Bloom and Ben Rubinowitz, released a statement in regards to her thoughts and how "disappointed" she is by everything.
Wow, this just makes us mad.
According to a New York State agency, doctors who performed the procedure that ultimately led to the death of Joan Rivers messed up by not following the proper procedure before administering a huge amount of the anesthetic Propofol.
According to the Department of Health and Human Services, there was no record at the Yorkville Endoscopy Center of the staff ever
January is basically right around the corner and E! still hasn't made a decision on who will be taking over on Fashion Police.
But at least the late comedian's daughter Melissa Rivers is keeping her memory alive.
Melissa shared a darling throwback pic of herself and her mom at a costumed event supporting children affected by AIDS in 2004 — and it's just so sweet!
Check out the pic (below) where you might just shed a tear!
We knew this had to be coming.
She's hired the law firm Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman, Mackauf, Bloom & Rubinowitz, but the suit won't go through for about a month. However, they're sending out letters alerting people not to destroy any files, phone records, or any documents that are related to Joan's treatment.
We hope they haven't already!
Melissa just wants to find out what happened to her mom, but the lawsuit is still about money — so we'll keep you updated on how much she's reportedly seeking.
Since it's been weeks since Joan passed, we're hoping all of the records are still there!
