Mom Gives Up Her Diamond Ring So Her Son Can Go To School!

diamond ring given up for sons schooling

This is equal parts inspiring and baffling.

When Ohio mom Tamika Hamilton's son needed to go to summer school, she ran into a bit of a speed bump:

She didn't have the $400 tuition she needed.

Tamika wouldn't let her son miss summer school, so she went to a school board official and said she didn't have the money upfront.

That's when Superintendent Charles Keenan told her that if she had something worth $400 the school district could hold it as collateral until she repaid the $400 bill.

hero bus driver sacrificed her own life to save ten year old student

This is sad and yet inspiring at the same time.

A 51-year-old school bus driver in Akron, Ohio, has been deemed a hero by police after she saved a ten-year-old student's life.

The awful incident happened during a routine fire drill as the students practiced exiting the bus from the emergency back door exit. When the last student hopped off, the bus began to roll backwards, and the bus driver, Laura Zborowski, was able to get the student out of the way but was unable to save herself.

Draven Rodriguez has possibly the greatest yearbook photo ever!

Admit it. We've all spent a good amount of time wondering how we left our mark on our high school and how we'll ultimately be remembered!

Were you a band geek? Maybe you were one of the cool kids! Or perhaps you were the star of the football team!

Well Draven Rodriguez will more than likely be remembered by his peers at Schenectady High School as the guy who took a yearbook photo with his cat and a bunch of lasers Photoshopped in!

students stand up and support former catholic school teacher who was fired for nontraditional pregnancy

Ugh!

We hate that this happened to this teacher, but we're SO glad to see all of the support she's received since!

Barb Webb was recently fired after working at an all girls Catholic school for the past nine years. She spent countless hours at Marian High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, but the former teacher - who is gay - believes she was let go because she is pregnant.

The timeline of the previous months would certainly prove that reasoning, since she told her bosses that she was pregnant in the middle of July, about a month after she first learned she was pregnant, and was subsequently fired in August.

Here's what she wrote on Facebook at the time:

NCAA Lifts Penn State's Bowl Ban And Lessens Sanctions Following Jerry Sandusky Child Sex Abuse Scandal, And Here's Why That's Terrible

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooZportzLegal MattersSad SadFootballSchool

The NCAA has lifted Penn State\'s bowl ban from the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal.

It's certainly been a crazy day in the world of football, and none of the news has anything to do with what's happening on the field.

The Baltimore Ravens took a huge step forward and somewhat righted the NFL's wrong by cutting Ray Rice from their roster after disturbing footage was leaked, showing the footballer punching his wife Janay Rice in the face.

Unfortunately, the NCAA took several big steps back as they announced they would lifting Penn State's bowl ban, effective immediately, and giving back all 85 athletic scholarships for the 2015 season.
