Nearly two weeks after Prince's tragic passing, a new report has come out claiming that the iconic singer passed away just one day before his scheduled meeting with a drug addiction doctor.
As we've previously reported, the Purple Rain artist may have been addicted to Percocet even before his hip surgery back in 2010.

According to the Star Tribune, Dr. Howard Kornfeld, who specializes in opioid addiction treatment, was called by Prince's reps on April 20 to fly out to Minneapolis for "a grave medical emergency," as stated by Kornfeld's attorney, William Mauzy.
Though he couldn't fly over until two days later, Dr. Kornfeld sent his son, Andrew, on a flight to Paisley Park that night to explain the treatment plan, and as Mauzy revealed:

And as the media is learning more and more, it sadly appears the superstar was struggling with using prescription medication, if the latest reports are to be believed.

TMZ is reporting that the Purple Rain singer passed up "at least eight" pharmacies close to his home in order to travel further to pick up prescription pills from a separate Walgreens the night before his death.

The 42-year-old's younger brother, Carlo Mendez, revealed the sad news on his Instagram on April 17, captioning a sweet snap with Carlos:
"With absolute pain and sadness in my heart this is the hardest thing I've ever had to go through in my life and as I'm writing this I'm still in disbelief. My brother has passed away peacefully this morning. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for those who have prayed and have kept my brother in your thoughts and who wished him to get better."
He also added that his brother is survived by two young children, writing:
"He fought with all his might and power and gave cancer one hell of a fight. He leaves behind behind a 13 year old and a 5 year old. I love you my brother may god bless you and I'll see you once again."

The comedian told BBC's Radio 5 Live that he had no idea the rocker was sick, explaining that they had talked two weeks before the musician lost his battle with cancer:
"[His death] was a total surprise. I was emailing him two weeks before, so he must have known. He kept it from everyone."
In the year leading up to his death, the artist had discussed his diagnosis with very few people, including his producer and band members.
The Office alum applauded the star's decision to keep his sickness a secret, adding:
