And that's not an easy subject!
On Thursday's Oprah Winfrey Show, the queen of talk sits down with actresses Teri Hatcher, Cybill Shepherd and Linda Evans to discuss aging and how it effects their psyche.
"I figured that I'd be okay up until 40 years old. I stopped looking at myself in the mirror [in her 50s] because I could see that I was aging." Growing older makes you "disposable in this disposable culture. Learning to love ourselves as we age is one of the most challenging things we can do."
Terri Hatcher showed pictures of herself before she goes to hair and makeup on the set of Desperate Housewives, which along with good lighting, makes all the difference.
Former Dynasty star Linda Evans revealed:
"I'm happier [now] because I don't define myself by the way people think. I had surgery done after 'Dynasty' because I was in love with [musician Yanni], a man 12 years younger than me … And hey, I'm not sorry that I did it. I wanted to look a certain way so that I could feel better about that 12-year difference."
The goal should be "[looking] in the mirror and … [loving] yourself no matter what you see. Getting older, you get wiser, that's the great thing about aging."
"What is more beautiful than recognizing this peace in your life?" added Teri.
It's an amazing sentiment, but we highly doubt they are above the challenges that come with wanted to look younger.
Lots of luck, ladies.
