International soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo player is all smiles after accepting “substantial” undisclosed libel damages from the London newspaper The Daily Telegraph after falsely printing a story in July of 2008 that he put an injured ankle at risk, while “living it up” at a Hollywood night club.
The story reports that the soccer star put his crutches down to dance with models and drank alcholic beverages, to which the soccer stud responded:
“I take enormous pride in my professionalism. I treat my training and recovery from injury very seriously and would never have drunk and danced in a nightclub without my crutches."
The newspaper has accepted the allegations were false and should have never been published.
The soccer player clearly doesn’t need the money either. Last time he successfully pursued a libel case, he donated the undisclosed damages from The Sun and donated them to a charity on his home island Madeira.
Check your sources next time, press! And by sources, we mean his abs. There is no way he has a body like that without taking his training seriously!
Although, Ronaldo is welcome to put his crutches down to dance with us anytime.
