Judge Strikes Down NY Anti-Smoking Campaign

If you’ve bought cigarettes in NY recently (and let’s hope you haven’t), then you probably noticed images of diseased lungs and decaying teeth in the store — they’re a part of a NY anti-tobacco campaign.
Regardless of whether or not this campaign was working, it will no longer be allowed to take place after a judge struck it down, saying that only the federal government can dictate warnings to accompany the promotion of cigarettes.
Said the judge:
"Even merchants of morbidity are entitled to the full protection of the law, for our sake as well as theirs."
Wonder if it would have done any good.
