Stromile Swift, the #2 NBA 2000 draft pick who never quite lived up to his hype, was arrested in Louisiana earlier in February after arriving at a woman's house with a gun in his pocket!
It sounds like Swift was in the wrong place at the wrong time too.
Police were already at Chaquinita Pouncy's home investigating a vandalism and harassment complaint she filed about Swift when the suspect in question drove up to her house.
We're not sure what he intended to do with a gun in his pocket, but luckily no shooting broke out and Swift was "compliant" with officers.
He must have had a permit for that gun he was toting around because he was only arrested on two misdemeanor charges, including suspicion of aggravated assault and improper telephone communications, but released on bail shortly after.
Although he reportedly signed a $22 million contract with the Houston Rockets in 2005, he now plays for the Shandong Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association.
We hope he learned his lesson and forgets the firearm next time he stops over to visit a lady friend!
Not cool, dude.
