First of all let me tell you that I am such a HUGE fan! I have been a captivated reader for 4 years now and never miss a day! Anyway, here we go! I moved to LA 5 1/2 years ago from Boston and became captivated with the city and its wonderful restaurants, happy hours, and variety of margaritas! When I got into a relationship with my now current fiance, I wanted to explore every restaurant and activity there was to do not even thinking about my weight or working out. I have always struggled with my weight ever since 10th grade of high school so just going off the wagon completely was not in my best interest.
So almost 3 years ago (April of 2008) my cousin and I made a pact to start our weight loss regiment (we both had weddings to attend later that summer that we wanted to look fabulous for!). I went to Weight Watchers in April, 2008 wearing the lightest outfit I owned and was in the shock of my life. I had tipped the scales at 201 pounds and being only 5'5 I was pretty hefty. I had always been between 170-180 in my college and post grad life but I could have never imagined I would ever be over 200 pounds. Well I had myself a little cry and decided that I was never going to see that number again EVER. So for the past 3 years I have been working hard to lose the weight and in about 2 years I had shed 30 lbs which felt like a lot weight to lose. In that time I trained for a marathon and multiple half marathons.
When my fiance proposed in July that was the extra motivation I needed to finally get down to a weight that was healthy for my height which I have never been able to do since I was 15! Today I weigh 143 lbs and I plan to lose 10 more pounds before my wedding on August 6th. I work out 5 days a week and count my points with the help of Weight Watchers. Staying motivated some days is hard but the results are amazing and I am losing the weight in a healthy way. If I can do it anyone can get themselves in shape. I have never felt better about myself and I am so happy. I have attached a picture of me right before I attended Weight Watchers in April of 2008 and then me in January of this year! I hope this help some people stay motivated out there. Keep up the great work!
