But if you need any more convincing, researchers have found that listening to music and laughing at jokes could lower your blood pressure. They found that over the course of three months, people who listened to music and laughed had a 5% to 15% lower risk of death from heart disease or stroke than those who didn't.
"I think there's definitely a physiological effect going on, some sort of mind-heart connection," said Michael Miller, M.D., director of preventive cardiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
