Following her return, the artist took a moment to thank everyone for their "prayers, love, and support" -- and especially the North Bergen Police Department for bringing her home safe.
Sharing a picture alongside the NYPD, Miz Quigley penned:
Oh no! We were not expecting to hear this, but are so glad she got the help she needed!
She was admitted into a ward for alcoholics and drug addicts where she was "in the detox center with 10 to 15 other people."
Some speculate her stay may have simply been research for an upcoming role as a woman who goes to drug rehab to deal with emotional trauma, but others believe the 41-year-old actress was treated for genuine problems.
Considering the drama she has had in the last year with her husband Michael Douglas' cancer, as well as watching her step-son Cameron Douglas go to prison, we don't doubt it!
We can't even imagine the emotional stress she has been through under the circumstances, all while she manages her career!
A family source says the actress may have turned to alcohol to cope with the problems, saying:
"Catherine had a lot of trouble coping. She was chain smoking and drinking."
We don't think anyone can really blame her as the source continued:
"It's been the most difficult year of her life. She's been through hell! The pressure has been almost unbearable."
Despite whatever problems she may be facing, witnesses say she kept her spirits high while in the rehab facility.
An insider elaborates:
"Catherine was friendly to everyone and seemed very down to earth. She ate all of her meals in the dining room with the others — and even played poker with them at night before bed."
She even exercised with the other patients on the property! An eyewitness described her as "animated", saying:
"Catherine seemed very animated, laughing and talking to other patients as they walked."
Hopefully the presence of a mega celeb like
Catherine Terrie Kirny motivated the other patients to take full advantage of the program too!
We sincerely hope everything is okay with Catherine and wish her the best, but even if she was only admitted to observe for an upcoming role, it seems like the actress made the most of her time at Silver Hill Hospital.
