Meditation Slows Aging

There are a number of reasons you should meditate (it increases calmness of mind and well-being), but a recent study found that people who mediate age less quickly than those who don’t.

Scientists say that the calming and anti-stress aspects of meditation are what help keep people who meditate young.

"You pay attention to your own breath," explains Sara Lazar, a neuroscientist who studies the effects of meditation at Massachusetts general hospital in Boston. "If your mind wanders, you don't get discouraged, you notice the thought and think, 'OK'."
