Other than this whole blood clot thing, tall men have it pretty great!
Unfortunately, the blood clot thing is a problem.
In a recent study, researchers found that big and tall men are more likely to have higher rates of Venous thromboembolism, which is the cause of blood clots.
Tall men (6 ft. or taller) were 2.6 times more likely to develop venous thromboembolism than short men (5 ft. 8 in. or shorter). And obese, short men were at 2.1 times greater risk than skinny, short men.
There’s a similar trend in women.
This means that if you’re tall or obese — watch out! Make sure you’re healthy and check with your doctor if you’re worried!
