This is just terrible!
Xavier Tondo, a Spanish cyclist who won the Tour of Castilla y Leon last month, was killed in a freak accident on Monday at a a ski resort where he was undergoing altitude training for the Tour de France.
The cyclist was leaving the resort's garage, but for some unknown reason exited the vehicle then somehow became trapped between his car and the door of the garage. He was tragically crushed to death as a result.
It sounds like Xavier Tondo was just getting to the top of his game in the sport, but was taken entirely too soon at just 32-years-old. We send our condolences and wish his family the best during these difficult circumstances.
