One of our favorite heartthrobs, James Franco, was honored with an award for his humanitarian work at the 2nd annual amfAR Inspiration Gala held at NYC's Museum of Modern Art on Tuesday evening.
After receiving the Piaget Award of Inspiration for his philanthropy and contributions to men's style, he told the star-studded audience:
"I'm still a little unsure why I'm being honored, but I'm glad that I'm here and I'm glad that I can help. It's certainly a cause that I believe in."
After being founded in 1985, amfAR, The Foundation For AIDS Research, has become one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of sound AIDS-related public policy.
Celebs like Heidi Klum, Ke$ha, and Lance Bass were also in attendance to support the cause, while Jennifer Hudson, Courtney Love and Liza Minnelli performed at the annual charity event.
Congrats on the award, James! We're happy to see your efforts are being recognized!
