Kyle Kennedy speaks out.
Wow. He's the last person we would have expected to have a problem with this sort of thing - but in retrospect, we imagine that having the weight of a movie franchise of that kind of scale would be a lot for anyone, especially someone his age!
Daniel Radcliffe recently revealed that struggled with a drinking problem during the last few years of production of the Harry Potter franchise, and that he's now quit drinking entirely - and hasn't touched a drop since August of 2010!
Admitting that his lifestyle became an issue while he filmed Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, he goes onto explain:
"There were a few years there when I was just so enamoured with the idea of living some sort of famous person's lifestyle that really isn't suited to me. There's no shame in enjoying a quiet life. And that's been the realisation of the past few years for me. [I want] a career for myself after Potter … [If] it goes well, and is varied and with longevity, then that puts to bed the 'child actors' argument. I'm actually enjoying the fact that I can have a relationship with my girlfriend where I'm really pleasant and not fucked up totally all the time."
All the more that this sort of thing can be a problem for ANYONE - even a mature, articulate and talented young man, such as him!
We're just happy to hear that he was smart enough to address his issue early on, admit that it was a problem and making him into someone he didn't want to be, and has enough self-control and strength to just stay away from it completely!
You're setting a great example for a lot of young people, Dan!
We're proud of you!
