Is the NFL lockout finally coming to an end?
Team owners unanimously voted in favor of a new collective bargaining agreement to end the team lockout at a conference in Atlanta on Thursday.
The decision to begin training camps in time for a full regular season is now in the player's hands who must also agree to the 10-year revenue sharing plan laid out by the NFL owners.
Commissioner Roger Goodell announced he hopes to begin the 2011-2012 NFL season this Wednesday, saying:
"Hopefully we can all work quickly. It is time to get back to football. That’s what everybody here wants to do."
So far, the Pro Football Hall of Fame game, scheduled August 7 between the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Rams, is the only causality of the lockout.
Let's hope players can agree to the owner's terms and conditions so America can get back to doing what it does best — watching football.
