This is a great move on McDonald's part in response to increasing parental and anti-obesity pressure!
McDonald's is redesigning their happy meal to make it slightly healthier for kids — by 20% — and adding different options for health conscious parents.
The new Happy Meals will be introduced in September. In most cases, they will include apple slices, or perhaps another fruit, and parents will have the option of requesting vegetables in lieu of fries.
Additionally, the company will offer a choice of milk with 1 percent fat or fat-free chocolate milk rather than soda, although parents can still ask for soda.
[It] will more than halve the amount of French fries in the package and add fruit.
It's great to hear that larger corporations are listening to their customers. If there was a way to make McDonald's 100% healthy but still taste amazing, that would be the best day! LOLz!
But really, this is a great step and we hope that they might even take it a step further somehow, just to make sure our youth is as healthy as possible!
