Taking place in Tokyo, the 2011 Would Championships is a big deal, especially for Women's Gymnastics!
We have six gymnasts representing us in the Women's Division, and they are:
Gabrielle Douglas of Virginia Beach, Va./Chow's Gymnastics and Dance Institute; McKayla Maroney of Laguna Niguel, Calif./All Olympia AOGC; Alexandra Raisman of Needham, Mass./Brestyan's American Gymnastics; Alicia Sacramone of Winchester, Mass./Brestyan's American Gymnastics; Sabrina Vega of Carmel, N.Y./Dynamic Gymnastics; and Jordyn Wieber of DeWitt, Mich./Gedderts' Twistars USA. Anna Li of Aurora, Ill./Legacy Elite Gymnastics LLC, is the alternate.
Now, unfortunately this team has been plagued with injuries. But, we still support them to the fullest, and think they'll do their best!
The World Championships are the first of two ways to qualify for the Olympics, so good luck, girls!
