Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have been besties since before they became Disney Channel stars, so we imagine it was pretty tough on Selena when she heard her BFF was suffering from a serious eating disorder.
In a revealing interview with Access Hollywood, Demi shared just how hard it was on her famous friend when she was admitted to rehab, saying:
"I think I was out of tears at that point [Selena] called me and she was crying, she was like, 'Hello.' I'm like, 'Why are you crying? I'm the one in treatment - like, I should be crying.'"
The two met as youngsters at an audition for the hit children's show Barney and Friends. 12 years later, their bond seems stronger than ever, as Demi continued:
"She's definitely one of my closest friends and no matter what, we'll always be close as sisters. We met 12 years ago, that's more than half of my life."
Before completing a life-chaning rehabilitation program for her disorder, Demi was making herself sick five or MORE times a day, explaining:
"I think at the worst it was a little more than that. I was just so sick. I thought that orange juice was going to make me fat."
Ugh! It breaks our heart to hear her say those words, but we are SO HAPPY she got the help she needed and is loving life!
"I feel amazing. I feel really happy and healthy," she concluded. "Life is beautiful and I can't complain."
That's the spirit, gurl!
