Giuliana Rancic Has Breast Cancer

Oh no, this isn't good news at all.

E!'s Giuliana Rancic has just announced that she has breast cancer. She discovered the tumor while undergoing in-vitro fertilisation. We're glad that they caught it, regardless of how.

She's 37 and will have surgery this week:

'Through my attempt to get pregnant through IVF, we sadly found out that I have early stages of breast cancer. It's been a shock. I wasn't prepared to get a mammogram until I was 40 years old, like I'd been told. I never in my wildest dreams expected anything to be wrong. It was just a kick in the stomach.'

'I went into the hospital in L.A., when they came in to tell me, they said it pretty quickly, they just said, "I'm sorry, you have breast cancer." It's what you expect, but so much more, it was like, incredible instant sobbing and the world just crashed down around me. I couldn't believe it - 36 years old, no family history? I couldn't believe it.'

She says she still wants to have the baby they were trying for, and even more so now — as she views the attempt and possible baby as saving her life.

'I still want this baby … because this baby has saved my life. I truly feel God was looking out after me… If I had gotten pregnant later down the line, I could have been a lot sicker.'

We're glad the baby plans aren't off. And we're so happy that you guys caught this when you did.
