Jordin Sparks Weight Tips

Jordin Sparks won American Idol in 2007, and besides all that singing and music nonsense (we kid!), she's been getting healthy and getting in shape!

So how did she lose almost 40 pounds?

By not snacking:

“When I did the photo shoot, I had lost 30 lbs, and I think maybe I’ve lost about 10 more.My whole thing now is toning. I just want to see muscle. My most helpful diet tip is definitely drinking more water. Sipping water throughout the day will keep you from being super hungry and gorging. One of the big things is I’m not snacking as much anymore, which has been nice. I just have my meals during the day, and I’m good.”

But of course, you can't JUST cut out snacking. You have to move too. And that's what Jordin did, with baby steps:

"I had walking pneumonia and didn’t know I had had it, so I had it for a while, and my lungs were super-infected, so I couldn’t walk without feeling fatigued. So all of December was trying to get my stamina back, and walking around the trail around my house, and then maybe jogging, and then hiking the mountain. It was baby steps, and doing more than I could. Now I mix it up. I started doing Zumba as well in December. Love it! Absolutely love it. I have the DVDs with me, so I do it on the road. And then just being on tour. I switch it up – I see a trainer in Arizona whenever I’m there. He’s awesome, so just doing different things for sure.”
