A FitPerez reader wants to maximize their metabolism's potential, so they wrote to diet author and former Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester for help, asking:
"How can I speed up my metabolism to burn more calories before I eat a meal?"
According to Ajay:
Two things you can do to burn more calories before eating a meal.
1. Working out before a meal ensures your body will burn up that food and use it as fuel. It is much easier for the body to utilize freshly digested carbohydrate as energy versus having to strip it from the body.
2. Wait an extra half an hour before sitting down to your meal. Oprah Winfrey used to always talk about “giving your body permission to burn fat“. It’s okay to feel that first pang of hunger (in moderation) so have a glass of water and burn those extra layers off piece by piece.
