Anyone suffering from chronic lower back pain might want to try a yoga class or regular stretching to ease their discomfort.
"Persons with chronic low back pain who attended a series of yoga or stretching [classes] had equivalent and clinically important improvements in their back-related dysfunction and symptoms that lasted for at least 14 weeks after the end of the study."
Researchers compared 92 participants who took weekly yoga classes with 91 people taking weekly stretching classes and 45 others relying on a "self-care" book to come to their conclusion.
Yoga may not burn through as many calories as the same amount of time spent on a treadmill will, but the study proves it can definitely make you feel better!
