13-year-old X Factor contestant Rachel Crow has been wowing judges with her fantastic voice and personality, but she's wowing us for her committment to a healthy lifestyle!
The 9th grade signing phenomenon, who admits food "used to be everything" to her, has lost 15 pounds in the last two months, explaining:
"I just did a lot of cardio and working out and my mom was with me all the way so I am really happy. Food used to be everything to me but now it is not. It is more like I eat for survival. So now I am good."
Instead of finding comfort in food, she's finding comfort on stage thanks to the hit reality singing competition, continuing:
"I decided to do it because I thought, "You are going to be on TV, you gotta clean up your act. You have to give it your all." I really went all out."
Such sudden weight loss for a teenager may raise a few eyebrows, but Rachel swears losing weight was 100% her decision. However, she was lucky to get full support from her mother as well, saying:
"It was my decision 100 percent. I told my mom let's go out and see if I can do something about my weight. She was 100 percent behind me."
Thankfully, the young teenager isn't trying to lose so much weight that she may lose her sense of self in the process. She's happy with her size and her new commitment to living a healthier lifestyle, telling sources:
"I don't think I am going to lose any more weight because if I did I wouldn't be Rachel. But I am definitely going to keep up on my eating regimen and try to keep going [with my exercise]."
We're so happy that Rachel's first experience in showbiz is having such a positive effect on her and we can't wait to watch where this experience takes her! Good luck in the rest of the competition, gurl!
