After a full investigation, the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of nearly an entire Russian hockey team, the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, has been explained.
With “no failures in the operation of the airplane and the engines were found", it has been determined that the accident is the result of a pilot inadvertently pressing on a brake pedal while pulling on the control yoke during takeoff.
Without enough speed for takeoff, the plane collided with the antenna of an airport beacon, then crashed into several pieces and caught fire.
Investigators have determined that a serious contribution to the wreck was a lack of proper pilot training.
A Russian Investigative Committee spokesman has said the reports will be taken into consideration during a criminal investigation to find out who bears responsibility for the loss of life.
Once again, our hearts go out to anybody who lost a loved one in the awful accident and can only hope an incident like this never happens again.
