Carbs have been the enemy to virtually any diet and any personal trainer's recommendations in the past, but 6-time Mr. World Fitness champion, Franco Carlotto, has devised a new system that not only allows carbs, but utilizes them to speed up your metabolism!
His new book, Carb Cycle, explains that there is no need to deprive yourself of your favorite breads, muffins, and fruits as long as you stick to a simple plan. In fact, eating them the RIGHT way can actually "turn your body into a fat burning machine".
Based on the idea that our bodies NATURALLY store carbs, the Carlotto's carb cycle increases your metabolism and helps you lose weight by constantly filling and depleting your body's storage mechanism.
Here's a basic example of the Carb Cycle weekly meal plan:
Monday - Carb-Restricted (25-75% reduction in carbs depending on activity levels)
Tuesday - Carb-Restricted
Wednesday - Carb-Normal
Thursday - Carb-Restricted
Friday - Carb-Restricted
Saturday - Carb-Normal or optionally half restricted
Sunday - Carb-Normal
So according to this meal plan, you can have your cake and eat it too! As long as you don't over do it, of course. Ha!
