Our wonderful Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, is undoubtedly one of the smartest women in the country (if not the world).
And she proved her brains once again by naming Ellen DeGeneres our Special Envoy For Global Aids Awareness.
The enormous platform of your television show and your social media channels will enable you to reach millions of people with the strong and hopeful message that we can win this fight.
Ellen, a determined activist for positive change and all things warm&fuzzy, was thrilled to hear the news. She tweeted:
I couldn’t be more honored to be named the Special Envoy for Global #AIDS Awareness by #SecClinton. Together, we can see the #EndofAIDS.
I agree w/this quote from #SecClinton: “An AIDS-free generation would be one of the greatest gifts we could give to our collective future."
The fight against AIDS is something that has always been close to my heart. And I’m happy that I can use my platform to educate people and spread hope. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go look up what ‘envoy’ means.
LOL!! Wow, even when she's serving the world, she's still HIGHlarious. This is a great way to keep her inspired for all of the amazing acts of charitable work she does. And Hilary is right, with her popular talk show, she has the perfect platform to succeed in all of her awareness endeavors.
Oh and p.s. Ellen, envoy means " a messenger or representative, esp. one on a diplomatic mission." Wink.
