Erin Andrews was filmed changing by an extremely creepy dude (Michael Barrett) in a series of hotels from Tennessee, Ohio, and Wisconsin. He followed her all around and asked for adjacent rooms from her, which he was granted. He then altered the peepholes to film her and put them online.
He was then caught and has spent the last 3 years in federal prison.
Now, Erin is suing the hotel chain, Marriott, AND Michael Barrett — for total of $10 million. $6 mil from the hotels, $4 from Captain Creepy.
"The unknowing and unwelcome filming of (Andrews) while she was changing and the further dissemination of unauthorized, private videos of (Andrews) in the hotel rooms has caused and continues to cause her great emotional distress and embarrassment. Liability breeds responsibility. The only way you can get a corporation to act responsibly is to hold it liable when it does wrong."
Yeah, we'd say she's entitled to all that! What a gross situation!
And why wouldn't the hotels be suspect of some dude wanting a specific room, especially one next to a well known ESPN host?
Hope it goes well, Erin!
