One more (possibly) awful sports scandal to add to the fire.
Michael Boley of the New York Giants is being investigated for allegedly abusing his 5-year-old son between May 30 and June 5.
No are no deets available as to exactly what kind of abuse Boley is being investigated for (physical, sexual, mental?), but the case has been handed over to an Alabama District Attorney's office. The evidence will be presented to a grand jury who will decide if their is enough of it to formally charge the linebacker.
Boley's lawyer, however, is calling the allegation BS and hints that it may just be part of his baby mamma's plan to get more money from him, explaining:
"These allegations were brought to our attention along with outrageous monetary demands in a contested child support case which she filed over a year ago. At final trial about a month ago, she did not seek an order restricting visitation. The only relief she requested from the judge was that child support be more than quintupled to, in her words, 'increase her lifestyle.'"
Due to the recent allegations, a different mother of Boley's 2-year-old son is asking a Georgia judge to make sure the NFL player must be supervised during visits with the boy.
Better safe than sorry!
